On tour: ‘Shell’s Wild Lie’ Photography Exhibition October 6, 2006
Posted by JennieB in Greenwash, News.trackback
Shell is the new sponsor of the Natural History Museum’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition. Spot any greenwash opportunities here? A call out from Art Not Oil and London Rising Tide.
Shell is the third largest oil company in the world. It is currently involved in environmentally damaging projects such as the gas pipeline in Corrib (see blogged post below) and in a development in Russia which is threatening the survival of the Western Pacific grey whale. Not to mention contributing to climate change through the continued promotion and sale of fossil fuels. It seems hypocritical that they should be allowed to sponsor any wildlife exhibition.
